Great Western Cricket Club - First XI 2006 Cup Final

We are currently 2 senior sides playing in the Welsh Club Cricket Conference in South East Wales. We are based at Great Western Staff Association Club, Coity Road, Bridgend and play our home matches at Newbridge Fields, Bridgend. Our senior 1st team has been promoted into Division 2 for the forthcoming season 2010 where we will be playing - Newport III, Llanarth, Cross Keys, Llantwit Major Cavs, St. Fagans III, Dinas Powys, Abertillery, Christchurch, Abercarn. Our 2nd team are in Division 3 for the 2010 season where they will be playing - Newport IV, Blaengarw II, Cross Keys II, Llantwit Major Cavs II, Pontnewynydd II, Pentwyn II, Blaina II, Christchurch II, Crumlin II.

The old 50 Club has become the new Great Western Cricket Club Monthly Lotto.

The monthly draw still has cash prizes but the results will be posted on the website and on the clubs notice board after every draw - which will take place every last Tuesday of every month. All winners will be notified by post with their winnign cash prize. Fantasy Cricket cancelled

Message for all players - this year’s tour is to Worcester has been moved to Weston-Super-Mare due to unfortunate circumstances. Its 25pppn and there are two places left - please contact Kris Tobin on 07796 764448 if you are interested, and he will requires a deposit £20. Also please say if you fancy playing or watching cricket.

Due to the lack of participation we have decided that this years competition will be put on hold and maybe next year will make a return if the support is there. Click here for fantasy.

The 1st team play home against St Fagans 3rds looking to win and for the 2nd team are away to Pontnewynydd looking to carry on the good form. Also next Sunday the club play Bridgend for the Inch High Trophy For fixtures click here…

This years presentation is to be held on Friday 17th September from 7pm at the Club. The main act this year is the POLAR BEARS and tickets are available for £5 each.
